Our Programs

Brennan and I met in 2006, he was in the Marine Corps, and I worked in nightclubs. We immediately felt like we knew each other. We believed the worldly truths about relationships, sex before marriage was fine, perverse movies and songs taught us that what we were doing was fine and normal. For the next 15 years we were together without being married, there was lying, financial problems, infidelity, and major drug and alcohol abuse. We were toxic for each other in every way shape and form. In 2020, I decided to go to Angel Manor again, I had been there before in 2012, I met God there before, and felt and saw what happiness and wholeness felt like. I took myself and my son Connor there and decided enough was enough, I was tired and absolutely done with running away from what I was, what I was making my life like, what I was making life for my children like. It was there I found I was pregnant with our third child. I got a job, became a better person, and began to heal and work through my life. Brennan went to treatment in 2021 in Prescott, through the Veteran Court program he was given the opportunities and resources to begin his journey. The man that gave him a ride to rehab is named Charlie, who was also his Mentor in Veterans Court. He is important in our story. We decided to get a house together with the help of Catholic Charities. We found ourselves falling into the same emotional patterns that we had in the past. There were still unhealed wounds, and a lack of trust that manifested itself, it didn't just go away. After nearly 2 years of this we decided, it wasn't going to work anymore, too much damage had been done. We were going to work on parting ways. We still went to church with our kids and supported each other in day-to-day activities, although it was heartbreaking, but we didn’t know what else to do. Brennan spoke with his mentor Charlie, whom he found out does marriage counseling, and has for many years, God centered counseling, and I agreed to try it. That following Sunday, the pastor spoke about family reunification, it spoke directly to us, we were both in tears and lifting our hands in worship, something we had never done before, that was our sign. We did counseling for 8 months, throughout we each thoroughly worked our programs of recovery, studied God’s Word, supported our children emotionally, and waited to be intimate. By each seeking God ourselves we became able to love and understand ourselves and each other properly, communicate so much better, and work through our issues in a healthy way. We made God our foundation, abided by His Word and fed ourselves daily with His truth and promises. We were married by Charlie early April with family, most people we have met and had support from through Angel Manor, and our program of recovery, and our hearts are full. Recently my mother, who has custody of our daughter, spoke with Brennan, that hasn’t happened in over 10 years. We are beginning again to repair the relationship with our daughter and my mother, with our new hearts. Our foundation before was built on a hill with sticks and rocks, we thought we had all we needed, knew all we needed to know. By making God our foundation and seeking Him separately and then coming together, being obedient and loving each other as He intended, we have a solid foundation. His ways are so much better than ours, He has restored so much in our lives and our hearts in such a short period of time, just like He promised He would do.
